      <title>CAAC 5 Road Race &amp; Fun Run</title>
      <description>The CAAC 5 &amp; Fun Run

The CAAC 5 Route is an accurately measured 5 miles. The race was first run in 2004 as an event connected with the bi-annual Corstorphine Fair, however it was such a great success it has been a fixture in the calendar since. With the backing of the Fair and generous donations from race sponsors and of course the support of the runners that have taken part the race has gone from strength to strength.

The route is on the open winding starting from the end of Turnhouse Road and circling Turnhouse Golf Course and Cammo. There is a fast downhill start before doubling almost towards the town and round Cammo, a good uphill is quickly followed by a sharp downturn in the road to the 3mile mark. Just before the 4 mile mark there is another incline before the course drops to a fast finish just off Turnhouse Road. The CAAC 5 route and elevation can be viewed at http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=809902 . The mapping is not a completely accurate in distance, but shows the route, start, finish and mile markers.

The race takes place on Wednesday 9th of June.

In addition to the popular CAAC 5, on the same evening starting just after the main start there is a short Fun Run for the kids.

Prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories: 1s t/ 2nd / 3rd Male &amp; Female, 1st Male (+40) / 1st Female (+35), 1st Male (+50) / 1st Female (+45), 1st Junior Male (U17) &amp; Female (U17), 1st Male &amp; Female Team (3 to count), plus Course Record Male &amp; Female, and lots of spot prizes courtesy of our sponsors.

Results will be posted on the CAAC website (http://www.caac.org.uk) and at scottishathletics website (http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk).

      <title>Bycycle 2010</title>
      <description>"The Ride to Perth" Sunday 15 August 2010 Venue - Kenmore to North Inch, Perth
A cycling day trip following the course of the River Tay from Kenmore to Perth. This is the opportunity for cyclists to play a part in the Perth 800 celebrations and to join others in an easy paced summer ride through beautiful Perthshire.&#160;
The ride will take minor roads from Kenmore to Dunkeld for lunch. After lunch the ride will continue down to the North Inch in Perth, where there will be cycling-related events and a buffet reception kindly provided by Perth and Kinross Council at Bell's Sports Centre. There will be plenty of stops along the way, to take in the views and to drink and get the breath back!

&#160;To minimise the amount of motor transport involved, cyclists and their bikes will be taken by coach from the South Inch car park in Perth to the start of the ride in Kenmore. The ride will be led and marshalled by experienced members of ByCycle, the Perth and Kinross Cycling campaign.

The Perth &amp; Kinross Cycle Campaign is a voluntary association of organisations and individuals which aims to encourage cycling and publicise its benefits for the community, for individuals and the environment. It also aims to ensure that public policy actively encourages cycling and makes full provision for it as part of the overall planning and transport strategy through which all members of the public can enjoy safe and efficient travel for work and leisure.
