“The Ride to Perth” Sunday 15 August 2010 Venue – Kenmore to North Inch, Perth A cycling day trip following the course of the River Tay from Kenmore to Perth. This is the opportunity for cyclists to play a part in the Perth 800 celebrations and to join others in an easy paced summer ride through beautiful Perthshire.  The ride will take minor roads from Kenmore to Dunkeld for lunch. After lunch the ride will continue down to the North Inch in Perth, where there will be cycling-related events and a buffet reception kindly provided by Perth and Kinross Council at Bell’s Sports Centre. There will be plenty of stops along the way, to take in the views and to drink and get the breath back!

 To minimise the amount of motor transport involved, cyclists and their bikes will be taken by coach from the South Inch car park in Perth to the start of the ride in Kenmore. The ride will be led and marshalled by experienced members of ByCycle, the Perth and Kinross Cycling campaign.

The Perth & Kinross Cycle Campaign is a voluntary association of organisations and individuals which aims to encourage cycling and publicise its benefits for the community, for individuals and the environment. It also aims to ensure that public policy actively encourages cycling and makes full provision for it as part of the overall planning and transport strategy through which all members of the public can enjoy safe and efficient travel for work and leisure.
