BEN LOMOND HILL RACE Saturday 8th May 2010 at 1pm.

9 miles & 3192ft of ascent.

The race will have a limited entry of 175 runners to meet the concerns of the landowners (the National Trust for Scotland) over erosion on the path. The route will be stewarded and there will be safety cover provided by the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team who will also provide medical first-aid facilities at the finish.

This is one of the few hill races in Scotland that goes up to 3000ft and so competitors must carry full water-proof body cover and a whistle. There will be a compulsory kit check before the race. Please note that there will be a time allowance of 45 minutes to the halfway checkpoint. (This corresponds to an estimated finishing time of 2 hours 15 minutes.) Runners failing to reach the checkpoint in this time will be required to turn back. If you are unsure of being able to meet these times, please do not enter. At registration, all runners will be given a meal ticket which will entitle them to a bowl of soup and a roll in the hotel after the race. Please share cars where possible as parking is extremely limited at Rowardennan. Please do not use the hotel carpark. By entering this event you are commited to the following:- l will follow the path or marked route (where different), I confirm that I shall carry the following safety equipment: waterproof full body cover and whistle. The event is likely to be fully subscribed this year and parking at Rowardennan is extremely limited, therefore it is vital that everyone makes an effort to car share where possible. There is ample parking at Balmaha if runners wanted to car share from there.
