This is a tough mountain race and should not be undertaken lightly. Competitors must be at least 18 years old and have previous experience of at least two category AL races in the last three years. Runners should be familiar with traveling across rough, trackless mountain terrain and be able to navigate and support themselves safely in all weathers. Runners must carry full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, route map, compass, whistle, food and drink. Several of the descents are steep and difficult. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for accidents or injuries incurred during the race. Competitors take part at their own risk.

Route: Runners must pass through all 7 checkpoints to complete the course. There are 3 timed cut-off points. These will be rigidly enforced, in the interests of the safety of both runners and marshals.

Start at 11am on the track south of Stronafyne Farm (298051) CP1: Ben Vorlich, 943m (295124) summit cairn (not the trig point) CP2: Loch Sloy Dam (289112) cut off 1.30pm CP3: Ben Vane, 915m (278098) CP4: Bealach Lag Uainne (263096) cut off 2:30pm CP5: Beinn Ime, 1011m (255085) CP6: Bealach a’Mhaim (262071) cut off 3:45pm CP7: Beinn Narnain, 926m (272067) Descend Beinn Narnain until 100m above the main road. Turn left and follow a wide forestry track north to 299059. Then enter the village from the north and follow flags to the finish. Finish as for the start on the track south of Stronafyne Farm (298051)
